Serving the faculty, staff and students of the School of Veterinary Medicine, as well as the LSU and Baton Rouge communities, the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine Library is the major health science library in the greater Baton Rouge area.  The Library is a member of the National Library of Medicine South Central Chapter Regional Library Program.

 

 

Located on the first floor of the Veterinary Medicine Building, the Library occupies 7,400 square feet with a seating capacity of 112. Current holdings include approximately 50,000 volumes and over 3,000 current periodical titles along with a growing collection of over 250 electronic books, dealing with all aspects of veterinary medicine, as well as selected materials on human medicine, comparative medicine, public health, the animal sciences and other related areas.

 

 

Books, arranged by the National Library of Medicine Classification System's call numbers, are shelved in the stack area on the left as you enter the Library. Journals are arranged by title in the stack area to the right.
