Nephrology

Nephrology is a branch of medicine dealing with functions and diseases of the kidneys. The School of Veterinary Medicine provides patient care to animals suffering from kidney malfunctions and diseases. LSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital maintains the only CRRT active dialysis program in the Gulf Coast region. Patients referred to LSU for CRRT should be transferred as soon as possible, as the chance of success increases with early intervention.

To schedule an appointment with the school's nephrology specialist, contact The Small Animal Clinic at (225) 578-9600.
